Return to West Beverly Hills High School for season 3 of everybody’s favourite guilty pleasure of the nineties. Luke Perry, Shannon Doherty and Jason Priestly all return for this season. This season covers more mature topics like rape, pregnancy, and alcoholism and of course the graduation of the entire class.

When the third season aired this show was at its peak of its popularity. The show had a bigger budget and was able to use location sets around Los Angeles more and more instead of being confined to the studio. This was evident from the storyline where Brenda and Donna went to Paris. This was actually filmed at Universal Studios Hollywood. This also was the debut of actor Dean Cain.

David had a bigger storyline this season as well, with his friendship with Sue Scanlon takes a turn for the worst. The ongoing saga of the Brenda, Kelly and Dylan love triangle heats up when Dylan finally makes his heartbreaking choice. Expect big drama ahead. Dylan’s dad returns to face his criminal past and ends up being killed to protect his family. It was good to see Dylan and his father re connecting this season even though the outcome was unexpected.

While in Paris, Brenda picked up the habit of chain smoking which she tries to hide from those around her. Continuing to defy her parents and see Dylan Brenda also moves in with him for a few episodes. Andrea had her fair share of drama this season as well, perhaps the most unexpected storyline was her horrific hit and run accident.

This DVD set arrives just in time for Christmas. It is a perfect set to have at home for those rainy and lazy days that we all have. Paramount Home Entertainment has done a good job with this season with a few special features listed below. Bring on Melrose Place season 3!
