Courtney Act joins queerplanetOur Australian Idol coverage will be hotter than ever in '05 with ex Idol'ee, Courtney Act, joining the queerplanet team. From when Courtney was a wee slip of a girl, studying, singing, dancing and acting, she knew there was only one thing she wanted to do......perform. When she then walked away with the coveted title of Ms Tiny Tots (Brisbane) of 1987, she knew she was well on her way. Years later, she packed her bags and headed for the bright lights of the big city and proceeded to take it by storm. The cabaret scene of Sydney was the first to savour the exquisite delights of Courtney's talents. Her explosive, energetic performing style, coupled with her enthusiastic personality, sent audiences wild. They knew they were watching someone who would bend over backwards to please them. Then, in 2003, ?Australian Idol? happened. With performances of songs like You Don't Own Me, W.O.M.A.N. and You Shook Me All Night Long, the country was mesmerised. Hot on the high heels of that came the phenomenally successful sell-out ?Australian Idol? arena tour where she stopped the show, along with fellow Idol Rob (?Millsy?) Mills, performing their version of the Robbie Williams/Kylie Minogue duet, ?Kids?. Australia just couldn't get their fill of Courtney. Soon to follow was a record deal with BMG followed which saw Courtney release ?Rub Me Wrong?, produced by legendary LA-based writer/producer David Norland, who has worked with the likes of Janet Jackson and Madonna. Not content with just being lucky 13 on Australian Idol, Courtney likes to expose her other talents also. She has written as a social reporter for Sydney's Daily Telegraph and also reported for the likes of NW and TV Week. Courtney was voted as one of The 100 Sexiest Women by the readers of FHM Magazine and was pipped at the post by Delta Goodrem in the Daily Telegraph's Woman Of The Year. She is a talented compare, host and an actress to boot! Courtney is currently working on her new spectacular live nightclub show. "I can't wait to be back in front of a live audience. Entertaining is what I love." And if all that's not enough, Miss Act, is joining the queerplanet team as our official Australian Idol commentator in 2005, starting Thursday. She'll check in weekly, and give us her spin on this years contestants and idol shenanigans.
