Democrats hold onto their lead in the polls.

As we go into election day on Tuesday, polls show Democrats still leading while Republicans close the gap.

With just more than 24-hours until the polls close putting this election behind us, it looks like the Democrats are poised to take over Congress with hopes of gaining a majority in the Senate as well.

Last minutes polls still show Democrats with a considerable lead, but Republicans are making a last minute effort to rally their conservative base. Both the President and Vice-President have been pounding the pavement supporting Republicans nationwide. On the other side of the isle, key Democrats are doing the same.

Democrats hold a 51 percent to 45 percent edge among likely voters, down from a 14-point margin two weeks ago, according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll. A separate poll by the Pew Research Center also showed a decrease in support for Democrats, who now have a 47 percent to 43 percent advantage over Republicans compared with 50 percent to 39 percent two weeks ago.

Check local media listings or election polling places to find out the hours of operations for Tuesday's election. GenerationQ Media will provide full results from the votes as they become available.
