Twelve years of Republican rule has come to an end. All major news outlets are reporting that the Democrats will be the majority in the House of Representatives for at least the next two years.

This will bring about almost instant change as the first-ever female Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, will become the most powerful woman in America. She holds a liberal history as a representative from San Francisco.

What will happen from here? The President of the United States will make the courtesy call tonight and say congratulations Maddame Speaker for the very first time in history. He'll also wake up tomorrow to a whole new tone in Washington, DC.

While the change of power doesn't take place until January 1st, the mood has just changed in the Capital and nationwide.
