Desperate Housewives

DVD - The Biggest DVD Of The Year Is Here.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

OUT NOW ON DVD

THANKS TO BUENA VISTA

The biggest TV show of 2005 is now on DVD for you to own. Released November 30th 2005 just in time for all that Christmas shopping that we have to do. The mysterious going's on in Wisteria Lane will have you glued to your TV set for many days and nights to come.

Deep in suburbia nothing and nobody are ever safe. We used to think that living in a quiet, neat and clean suburb that you led a boring and dull existence. This was until Desperate Housewives made being a boring housewife so much better than anybody could have ever imagined.

The series opens up with a shock death. Local favourite Mary Alice took her own life by shooting herself in the head. As her neighbours and friends try to grasp why a seemingly innocent woman would kill herself they end up discovering more than they ever wished for.

Mary Alice is like our tour guide for each episode. She narrates here and there filling the viewer in on all her secrets of each resident. Her dearest pals are her neighbours. Susan Mayer played by Teri Hatcher, Lynette Scavo played by Felicity Huffman, Bree Vander Kamp played by Marcia Cross and my personal favourite Gabrielle Soils played by Eva Longoria.

We soon learn that single mother Susan's husband left her a year earlier. She is still dealing with the hate she has for men and the hurt that she has experienced. Lynette used to be a corporate high flyer now she is a mother to three little terrors. Her husband Tom is around although does little to help his family.

Bree is the goodie two shoes of Wisteria Lane. On the surface it seems that Bree has everything, a perfect family and children and a loving husband. The truth be told that Bree's marriage is hanging on by a thread. She is suffering depression and desperately trying to keep it under control. Her son thinks that he may be gay and is keeping this from Bree.

Gabrielle is the sexy, strong one of the group. Her rich husband seems to give her the perfect life yet she is willing to throw it all away by having an affair with the sexy hired help John, played by very sexy former soap star Jesse Metcalf. Other interesting characters who live on Wisteria Lane include the new neighbour Mike Delfino who seems to be getting friendly with the now single Susan. The resident tramp, ultra-sexy Edie Britt, and the snoopy neighbour Mrs. Huber.

Throughout the 23 episodes in season one so much is revealed along the way about Mary Alice. As the season progressed the show focused more on the four main woman and the secrets and lies that each kept from each other.

No doubt the second series will be as populaur as this one with more twists and turns.
