Desperate Housewives Season 2 – Extra Juicy Edition Out On DVD Now Buena Vista Home Entertainment Season two of the most watched television in the world is now available on DVD to own forever. The beginning of this season nicely raps up the cliffhanger episode from last season. We see that Zach is keeping Susan hostage but she manages to shoot a bullet through window letting her escape. Mike is so shocked as to what Zach has done that he convinces Susan not to press charges because he has had a tough upbringing. Feeling sorry for him Susan gives him some money to go and find Paul. Gabrielle is pregnant and Carlos is still in jail. I found this relationship to be somewhat dull this season. There is a great scene where Gabrielle gets into a knock down drag out fight with a nun at her church. This was one of the most memorable scenes this season for me.

The addition of the new neighbors Betty and Matthew provided another interesting storyline for season 2. They were holding their son hostage in the basement because he killed somebody in Chicago. Edie is up to her old tricks when she decides to date Susan’s ex husband Karl. This takes the feud between the two women to the next level with a very surprising outcome. Bree had it bad this season, still dealing with her son Andrew being gay she took on a new best friend, alcohol. The downhill spiral for Bree was a better story line that I thought it would be. Here is a woman who on the outside has it all but inside has to deal with a troubled son and her family. It was also good to see Susan and Mike finally break up after so much deception between the two.

This season had a huge number of guest stars including the always funny Roger Bart as George Williams. The legendary Carol Burnett played Bree’s evil step mother and Rex’s mother was played by Shirley Knight. The cast knows how to shake things up and keep a one hour show so interesting.
