Disney's High School Musical Sweetheart in Photo HorrorThe High School Musical sweetheart's reputation has been tarnished by leaked nude photographs of the star Vanessa Anne Hudgens, the 18 year old American star of Disney's smash hit High School Musical and the recently released High School Musical 2 is struggling amid allegations, and a confirmation from her PR rep, that several provocative photographs of her have been leaked on the internet. Earlier this morning, reports surfaced claiming that Disney had fired Hudgens, who was in talks to appear in the third in the High School Musical series. However, at the moment, that report is under review, and will hopefully be proven false.
Hudgens, who won the 2006 Teen Choice Award for the Choice Chemistry Award with her co-star Zac Efron has, up until now, been America's sweetheart, but she now faces a serious problem. With reports flying around that the photographs were posed for Efron himself, and that it is possible they were taken due to other reports of Efron's supposed romance with Hairspray co-star Nikki Blonsky, Hudgens needs to act, and act fast. It is a difficult position to be in, as Melissa Joan Hart realised after she posed for MAXIM Magazine a few years ago, but I feel that America should be able to understand the mistakes people make. Hudgens is new to the world of crazed fans and reporters, and should not be subjected to the potential life-long problems for both herself and her career. At eighteen years old, everyone does stupid things. We all make mistakes and make stupid choices. Just because she works for Disney does not make her a real-life Snow White, Cinderella or Sleeping beauty, or any other model cartoon character out of one of their animated movies. I mean, come on, if I collected 20p from every single guy in a chatroom who has offered to send me a nude picture of himself, I would be rich. In my opinion, Hudgens made a mistake, and one that she now most probably deeply regrets. Let's move on. I hope that it is still possible to move through and much beyond this, but sadly, I think it would seem that Hudgens finally understands the lack of privacy, lack of respect and confidentiality issues that come with being a world-famous star. Best of luck, Vanessa. I hope this blows over for you.
