Embrace Productions Presents Babylon Tour: ?CITY OF BABYLON?Get ready for the up and coming CITY OF BABYLON event of the year. queerplanet got to speak with The Babylon Tour president Adam Gill (Embrace Productions) about the latest circuit party sure to leave you wanting more... Chicago -- As the event kicks off their 4th installment of the thumba, thumba of the up and coming club event called The Babylon Tour: CITY OF BABYLON, produced by Embrace Productions and Showtime Networks. queerplanet got our chance to speak to the head of Babylon, Adam Gill to get an inside look on how it all started; what's special about this North American gay event in 2006 and what's exciting action awaits? queerplanet: Thank you Adam for taking to time to speak with queerplanet. Tell me about The Babylon Tours and Embrace Productions? Adam Gill: Embrace Productions is a marketing and events company based in Toronto, Canada which prides itself in delivering the highest quality of events possible to our audience. The Babylon Tours were created in 2002 by Embrace Productions and Showtime Networks to expand upon the reach of the popular Queer As Folk series. Queer As Folk was one of the only television shows created that you could actually build a tour around and being really exciting for the audience. The Babylon Tour is entering its fourth year and its the number one tour in the North American gay market. It has taken a long time to establish its presence in the market place but The Babylon Tour is amazingly popular now. qp: How are the circuit parties going to be different this year? AG: The theme this year is the CITY OF BABYLON, which means we will turn each tour stop into a downtown urban metropolis, a real life sin city. We've done The Original Babylon from QAF, The Future of Babylon, The Ancient City of Babylon so this year's tour will continue the evolution of Babylon. RKM the production team from Miami will handle all the decor and design and this year's will be our biggest and yet for sure. Everyone will be amazed at how Babylon will look this year. qp: You are still calling this event Babylon because of Queer as Folk; any stars from the series going to be in any key cities? AG: No they won't. The show is over and Babylon lives on, is the message we are sending so we are going to be added resources as branding the Babylon Tour on its own feet rather than under the Queer As Folk brand. qp: Okay, a personal question, if I wanted to meet some hot women, which Babylon Tour would you recommend? :-) AG: Tough call, I think all of the events in each city draw a pretty diverse crowd of beautiful women and men. The Babylon Tour draws from all ends of the spectrum with the majority of our crowd gay male but we have a huge straight female following and lesbian following too. The Babylon Tour much like Queer As Folk is for everyone to enjoy. qp: Are you going to have any special events happening within different cities? AG: As we do every year we try to spice up the tour and make it exciting and different in each city. For this year we are putting Manny Lehman and Tony Moran together to perform at the main event for Gay Pride in Toronto at the Kool Haus. This event will draw almost 4000 people and feature superstar surprise special guests, but I can't say whom. qp: What are some important information you want people, that might be interested in coming to one of the Babylon Tours to know? AG: The City of Babylon Tour will be amazing this year and I hope everyone gets to experience Babylon this summer. We are working day and night to make this year's tour even more of the top and hope you can enjoy it with us. -- -- Chicago ? April 30 Orlando ? May 4 Montreal ? May 6 Boston ?
