GenQ - For the not so straight individual

"Graeme and Janet's farewell tribute to Melbourne is the culmination of a 30 year journey that created Australia's leading contemporary dance company. EVER AFTER EVER includes the world premiere of Short Stories, choreographed to Carl Vine's Anne Landa Preludes. Graeme's very personal gift to the dancers and their very personal response is the basis of this intimate work.

The program also features a selection of the works Melbourne took to heart:
The ephemeral beauty of Air and Other Invisible Forces
The nostalgic comedy of Tivoli
The crisp modernity of Ellipse
The evocative dance narrative of Berlin ''

To sum up this production, I guess I would need to focus on the sheer skill and agility of the dancers. Their acrobatics and fluidity brought a strong emotional linkage to the work. It was a joy to witness.
The highlight of the night would be going from the nostalgia of "Tivoli", one of Graeme Murphy's (Artistic Director) most famous works and then working into a brand new piece, Short Stories, which appeared to feature Graeme as a character in thedance studio.
All in all a beautiful piece of theatre, if you're into dance shows. It's only on until the end of the week so get in quick!
