This is one the funniest shows to be released on DVD this year. Comedian Chris Rock is world famous, and for the first time we get a look into his crazy and unusual childhood and what it was like for him growing up. Rock narrates the series, and it is funny to hear his own voice and thoughts throughout each crazy episode.

Young actor Tyler James Williams is just amazing as the young Chris Rock. We get a good insight into his crazy family. The Rock’s are very cool and they will offend, abuse and make laugh all at the same time. Living in the early 80’s in Brooklyn isn’t the easiest place to live. This show explores the tough times but also the very good times that the family face together.

As far as family comedies go, Everybody Hates Chris stands out. All the ingredients of a successful sitcom are imbedded here, topped with the spice of Chris Rock himself injecting his own thoughts and options into the show. The cast overall are very good especially the mother Rochelle played by actress Tichina Arnold.
