GenQ - For the not so straight individual
First LoveRelationships are the hardest things we do in life. Relationships are the hardest things we do in life. They play games with our heads. They test our friendships and they turn our world upside down. But why do we do this to ourselves? We go from one relationship to another yet for some reason the first real relationship we ever really put ourselves into never seems to go away. We are always looking in our next relationship the qualities of our first true love. No matter how many relationships we have been in, no matter what our experiences are and no matter how much we know in the end it will be ok. We still seem to collapse under the pressure. We start to ask the questions why. Why me? What did I do wrong? Why does it have to end like this? We ask our friends over and over these questions. We look for answers that they can't give us. We find out who our true friends are because they are the ones that let us ask these questions time and time again. They try to convince us that things will get better, that one day we will find the one that deserves us. But no matter how many times we hear this, however many friends tell us, we just want one person to tell us its going to be ok. The one that just walked away. No matter how long we were with the person, let it be months or years, we lose part of ourselves. Yet time goes on and we start to think of that person less. We start to wonder how we could let something like that crush us and we then start looking once again for a new relationship. Pain is the price of love.au til next time, Kristen.
