General public to pick Big Brother housemates

The general public will have the ultimate say on which housemates will be entering the Big Brother house.

It’s been made official; auditions for Big Brother 2008 will start on Tuesday 30 October. The best news; every single person no matter where they are in Australia will have the chance to audition, and you will get to directly decide who enters the house.

From Tuesday, those interested in taking part in the eighth series of Big Brother will be invited to upload a one to two minute video, telling Australia a bit about themselves and why they want to go into the Big Brother house.

Then in December, voting will open to the general public. Candidates featured in the three highest voted videos will earn themselves a place in the Big Brother house, and remaining housemates will be selected on how votes were made.

The audition change is just the first of many expected to be made in the “tighter, re-energized” format of Big Brother in 2008.

The new series will also see a change of hosts; Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O will take over main hosting reins from Gretel Killeen. Mike Goldman, Bree Amer and Ryan Fitzgerald will be returning to host Friday night games.

This year Big Brother is not only watching you, he is listening to what you think.
