Georgia RuleJane Fonda and Lindsay Lohan star in Georgia Rule, now available on DVD. Georgia Rule
Out Now on DVD Jane Fonda Lindsay Lohan Universal Home Video This film is not a great film nor is it unwatchable. It had a good cast and a wealth of acting experience. Rachel played by Lindsay Lohan runs away from her worried mother to spend time with her Grandmother, Georgia. We soon learn quickly that both women have many issues to deal with, regardless of how old or young they both are. This film is advertised as a comedy but it is more of a serious and dramatic look at how family relationships can be tested and pushed to the brink. Rachel the out of control daughter of Lilly is sent to live with her Grandmother for the summer. The reason for this is her constant rebellion against authority, and her vicious hatred for her mother. We quickly learn that Lilly and her mother Georgia have the same mother daughter issues. Once arriving in town, Rachel quickly gets the reputation as the town tramp; this is due to her trying to corrupt a wholesome Christian boy. We soon discover that the reason Rachel is this way was because of a horrific family situation that she claims happened to her. When her mother and her boyfriend arrive in town all hell breaks loose within this crazy family. While this film was funny in parts, there is also a very serious side to Georgia Rule. This film is a detailed look of how an average American family can breakdown and become a total mess. Jane Fonda is just amazing and proves once again how good she of actress she really is. Felicity Huffman was average in the role of Rachel’s controlling mother, even though she did overact times. Marcus Richa.
