Is Mitt Romney trying too hard to say the 'right' thing?

Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney may be a bit more 'gay friendly' than he admits thanks to a letter he wrote in 1994.

It seems like Massaschsetts Gov. Mitt Romney is seeking recognition as the top politician against gay rights.

A new letter has resurfaced in which Romney writes to a gay republican advocacy group that he would be a stronger gay rights advocate than his 1994 Senate opponent, Sen. Edward Kennedy.

Romney has been very vocal in his opposition against gay rights hoping to appear as a strong-hold conservative in the 2008 presidential race.
