Israel to recongize gay marriagesThe Israeli goverment will now be required to recongize gay marriage. Even thought they aren't handing out marriage certificates themselves, the Israeli Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that the country must recognize gay marriages performed abroad. The shocking decision was almost unanimous with a six to one ruling handed down after several same-sex couples who were married in Canada set the case into motion. Israel gay activist Itay Pinkas, who also married his partner in Canada, called the ruling an "historic day for the community and for democracy. This is our real pride parade. We will keep battling for equality in other areas."
