It might be possible for Hillary Clinton to be our next President! There have been many legacies in the White House, but never a President who goes back as the first gentleman or a first lady who comes back as the president. It could happen this year. Most people knew it was not a matter of if, but when Hillary Rodham Clinton would announce that she is considering a run for the presidency in 2008. While it would be unique to see a first lady become the first female president, most people have been barking that it is not possible. Few people have stepped up to admit they think she could go all the way, even her biggest supporters. But it could happen... Hillary Clinton is running mucher higher in polls among likely voters than most people expected bouncing off the recent midterm elections. She proved to voters that she was focusing on the senate election at hand, reminded New Yorkers of her laundry list of accomplishments, and ultimately won by a landslide. Even though she was up against a practical 'no named' opponent, Hillary ran like she might possibly lose spending more money than any other candidate in the country. Now she is asking the high ranking democrats in New York for their support if she seeks a bid. This is her first official step to entering the race. The interesting thing is that Hillary is actually being considered a contender. She is actually entering the race as the lead democrat, and she may even attract some of those disgruntled moderates in the new swing states like Ohio, Missouri, Virginia, Colorado, and Arizona. If you add that to what John Kerry did in 2004, then that would put her up at the 270 mark making her the president in 2008. First she has to make it through what I am sure will be a thick sea of democratic contenders and possibly another New Yorker (Guiliani or Pataki) or the most moderate of the moderate (McCain).
