Katie's Dark AngelsMelbourne's favourite celebrity fag-hag, Katie Underwood, is starring in a new play called Dark Angels! Dark Angels is a murder mystery/comedy musical set in a strip-cum-fetish club where Mame (played by Katie) is the head of the showgirls, and is billed as the Queen Of Sin.
Mame receives a letter threatening to kill her. The letter is sent by the Burlesque Butcher, who is a serial killer that's been killing the showgirls of Melbourne. ![]() Detective Brown and his female partner begin work in the club incognito. The killer closes in and we see Mame's young lover murdered. The Detectives interview the suspects: The Senator who is trying to close this Temple Of Evil full of homosexuals; Astrid, the club's artistic director who is jealous of Mame's success ... maybe it's Detective Brown himself, since the victims have been his ex-girlfriends ... Can Mame be saved? ![]() Katie Underwood has also been in the studio working on some key original tracks for the show. Dark Angels is showing in Melbourne at Ondergronds Bar (cnr Russell St & Flinders Lane) every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night from 8pm, and Sunday nights at 6pm from Friday 27th July until Sunday August 19th. Tickets are $45 (Friday/Saturday) or $35 (Thursday/Sunday). Dark Angels will also be showing in Sydney in March 2008, so keep your eyes out for that! For tickets, go to www.moshtix.com.au or the Dark Angels website. For more information about Katie, visit her Myspace or Official Website. Keep your eyes peeled for a review and interview soon ... same queer-site, same queer-writer!
