Kurt Eichenwald Stranger than FictionKurt Eichenwald writes crime fiction. It seems he has gotten confused when it comes to Justin Berry as to what is fact and what is fiction. On the morning of June 19 2005, at 1:27 AM Central time Kurt Eichenwald visited the quickstat page for the Neova.net account that would display the signup data for Justin’s websites. He would have seen that Justin Berry’s porn websites were idle. MexicoFriends had only 6 subscribers and JustinsFriends had only 3. Eichenwald could not have missed the fact that his financial contributions were going into the relaunch of the website.
“Greg sent me an instant message on June 24 or June 25, telling me that they were about to launch this big new Justin site, called justinsfriends.com, which apparently had been tooling around. It had been, you know, there in existence but not really launched. I don’t understand the difference between launched and not launched, but they were going to launch it after the July 4 weekend.” “...on Monday, which I believe is....July 10. Justin was showing me something called an FTP site. I don’t know what it stands for, but he was trying to show how the structure of things went from- –from videos being loaded here and how the Web posts play a role. I was learning about computers as well. And he began opening up some of these videos, trying to show me that—the nature of what was happening and who was involved.”
