Magnitude 4.5 Earthquake Startles L.A. Residents, Little ElseAside from jostling some L.A. County residents from their slumber and shaking some of their belongings up, an earthquaked passed through mostly unnoticed this morning. LOS ANGELES, CA - The U.S. Geological Survey said in an e-mailed statement early this morning that a magnitude 4.5 earthquake rumbled through Los Angeles, CA early this morning.
At around 1:00 a.m. local time, the small quake shook its way out out of the epicenter approximately 28 miles northwest of the Los Angeles Civic Center. The Associated Press is reporting that the quake was felt throughout Los Angeles County residents, but there were no injuries or major damage reported as of yet. It seems that the disturbance was limited to being woken up from sleep and items being rattled off of the walls.
