Non discrimination bill in NebraskaEqual Rights News: Legislation has been filed in the Nebraska Senate to cease discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Last week, Senator Ernie Chambers filed legislation in Nebraska, United States, to ban discrimination in workplace environments and housing that is sexuality focused. This is the third bill that Chambers has attempted to have passed in an attempt to reduce discrimination against gay people; both prior movements to pass the legislation have been defeated. Currently, legislation protects religion, gender, race, colour and disability from discrimination. If this bill passes, sexual orientation will be added to that list. Senator Chambers was successful in introducing a discrimination bill for a number of tertiary education facilities in 2005.
