'One of us' on The Biggest Loser

As we get ready to bring in this year's series of The Biggest Loser, we can reveal that one of the contestants is a not-so-straight individual!

Think February 2006, and after continually hearing about rising obesity levels, Australians have begun talking about a television show; The Biggest Loser. It was there that we were introduced to Artie, a man who weighed 156 kilograms and loved trainer Bob Harper just as much as I do. It was through one television show, which Artie lost over 40 kilos, and beat his health condition of Type 2 Diabetes (and might I say, became a very handsome man in the process!) Now, just one year later, it is time for us to meet this year's not-so-straight individual on the show.

Ladies and Gentlemen (and everyone in between), meet Courtney, our gay contestant for this year's series.

Courtney is 185cm tall (just over 6 foot), is 21 years of age, lives on the Gold Coast, and hopping on the scales for the first time on The Biggest Loser 2007, he weighed 139 kilograms, a weight which will only go down over the next four months.

With striking looks, a sharp mind and great sense of humour, 21 year-old Courtney should be the life of the party. A gay man, living on the Gold Coast, the charismatic youth is supported by a loving partner and close friends who believe Courtney's weight problem is the only thing stopping the character from being super-hot.

Living in the city of sand and surf, Courtney is constantly reminded of his obesity and whenever he hears laughter, he always wonders if he's the brunt of the joke. On the beach, he seems to be the only bloke with a shirt on, when he shops for clothes he's ushered to the big persons' section, and worst of all, when he goes dancing, he's always paranoid about his jiggling 'man boobs'. Courtney would like nothing better than to shed his t-shirt at the beach, shop for the hottest labels and strut his stuff in the clubs.

The Biggest Loser will certainly offer a regime that is an extreme opposite of his life on the Gold Coast, but Courtney sees this journey as essential if he's to achieve the super-fit body of his dreams and live a life free of paranoia.

Courtney is one of fourteen contestants that commence the battle of losing weight from Sunday 4 February on The Biggest Loser, being televised on Channel 10.

GenerationQ.net wishes Courtney and all other contestants the best of luck, and we hope that anyone that fights 'the battle of the bulge' comes out victor!
