GenQ - For the not so straight individual

The Swede Government is currently proposing an initiative which would see lesbian mothers in the country have the same rights as straight women.

The update to rights for lesbian women would mean that they now would have equal custody rights if a woman got pregnant through either a private process, or through sperm banks.

Under the laws, the birth mother would have automatic equal rights, while their partner will ultimately have legal rights issued to them.

Such protocols already apply to women who become pregnant through the Swedish public system.
