GenQ - For the not so straight individual

I do have to admit I am attracted to older guys, older not old. I generally follow the ten year rule. If I am 29, my age limit is 39. So would you date someone who is 44? Factor the fact that he is Belgium and has an adorable French accent. Factor that he has an amazing body and he is a trained triathlete who knows his way around the kitchen.

So last Saturday I went out for my first proper date with Max, a 44 year old Belgium (Triathlete guy)human resources manager. Herny, aka as my older guy lives in another world. I had seen this type of traditional dating in old French movies but had never experienced it myself. Herny was born in Belgium but lived in Paris, Milan and all over Europe. He is a typical European man. He speaks five languages, is well read, sophisticated, cultured and very sexy. He's a real man.

His apartment is out of the Vogue Home cover. He knows all the good restaurants, drinks pinot from the south of France and all of his clothes are made in Milan or Paris.

We were from two different generations and worlds. He was Gucci and Channel and I was Gap and Abercombie. Our date began at a cute little bistro in Elizabeth Bay. It was so sophisticated, we were not asked for drinks but for the type of coffee we wanted. I actually wanted to drink a smoothie but instead opted for a more sophisticated flat white a la soy. He has a latte a la French. We have so much in common. I feel like I can learn a lot from Max.

We ended up at his place talking about travelling, cooking (or my lack of), men and history. He then did something few men have ever done to me'he actually wooed me. Wine, flirting, and courting. Then he asked me to take a bath with him? Excuse moi? I had never actually truly experience romance or Belgium romance. Let's face it, romance in Sydney occurs if a guy actually takes his shoes off before you jump in bed.
