That elusive Neighbours change…

A sneak peek at the ‘changing’ Neighbours starting from 23 July.

We’ve all seen the advertisements for weeks on end; ‘A change is coming’, 6.30pm Monday 23 July. After twenty one years on Australian television screens, Neighbours is set to undergo one of its biggest transformations in the shows history from this Monday. But how is the show, which has featured cast members such as Kylie Minogue, Delta Goodrem, Daniel MacPherson, Natalie Bassingthwaithe and Kimberley Davies to name just a few, successfully going to perform such a transition? Here is just a sneak peek…

It of course will commence with the wedding of Rosie & Fraser (which may not go completely according to plan for its guests). But of course to get to a wedding, the question must be popped, and from what we hear, that question just may arise again for two lovebirds in the near future. Two well known residents of Ramsay Street may be literally connected a lot closer than what they think, and a horrific accident will occur which will involve a resident of Number 30 Ramsay Street, and could have their life hanging in the balance. A major event will also see long time cast member Susan Kinski in tears. Just what could it be…

The elusive change of Neighbours will also see the introduction of new cast members, some familiar faces returning and a presentation change not often seen mid year in a television series.

The changes of course were sparked after a disappointing ratings trend continued in early 2007. Ratings has since begun to recover, regularly winning its timeslot in Network Ten’s key 18-49 demographic, and are expected to increase overall following Monday night’s launch of the new look Neighbours.

Wedding bells, Brother and Sister, Lovers and Tragedy are all set to appear in Neighbours in the coming months. We have just given you a taste of what you can expect. We could tell you more, but hey, if we spoiled everything, then it would ruin the surprise…

Neighbours is broadcast 6.30pm weeknights on Network Ten.
