The Dead GirlToni Collette and James Franco star in The Dead Girl, now available to own on DVD. The Dead Girl
Now on DVD Sony Pictures Toni Collette James Franco The Dead Girl is a dark film comprising of chapters. Each chapter traces a specific connection that many people have had to The Dead Girl. Each chapter was like a film within a film, all having an important connection and coming together to complete The Dead Girl has to offer. The opening scenes let the audience in for what will be a very emotional ride. Each character has so much history within them that it is very hard to show in a 90-minute film. We feel that we only begin to scape the surface into each story. The film opens with a young girls body being discovered in the field. As her mother is called into the picture we find out that the young woman left home years ago and has had little contact with her mother of other family since then. She is now working as a call girl and living a dangerous lifestyle. Her mother, played by Marcia Gay Harden sets out on a mission to discover why her daughter left and how she has been living the past few years. The things that she finds out about her daughter are every mother’s worst nightmare. Without giving to much away this film will leave you probably with more questions than answers. I was amazed to see how many well-known actors that are in The Dead Girl. Each time a new face popped up, it was always somebody well known. Each chapter could have been a stand-alone film of its own, but this way of presenting the film only added to the mystery and dark quality that it offered. If you want to see a good mystery that may not be an easy to watch film, I recommend The Dead Girl with it’s good script and brilliant cast. Marcus Richa
