The Real Housewives of Orange CountyThe new guilty pleasure to end 2007 on a high, The Real Housewives of Orange County is now available on DVD. Out now from Universal Home Video comes a new guilty pleasure to wrap up 2007. Take a look at the over the top and outrageous world of the real housewives of Orange County California. This is the private gated community of Coto De Caza, where the women are sexy, have too much money and have had enough work done to make any man fall for them.
If this soapy series sounds all too much, then give this a miss but if you want some fun and stupidity to escape for a few hours, then I recommend this show. The five women that show focuses on are Kimberly Bryant, Jo De La Rosa, Vicki Gunvalson, Jeana Keough and Lauri Waring. Each has their own unique quality, and very rich husbands and or families. The initial problem that I found with these women is they are so sheltered in their own privileged word that they are naïve to what goes on in the real world. They make the everyday chores that many people do in their lives like raising kids; working and keeping a house seem boring and mundane. This only added to the craziness that this series offers its audience. As the series progressed we learn that they are not as shallow as they can appear and do realize that what they have could all be over in an instant. The children in the series come across as nothing more than spoilt brats. They are worse than their parents could ever be and this was the same throughout the season. This show is fun but you can’t take it too seriously or you will miss the total camp value and shallowness of it all. Bring on the Botox! Marcus Richa
