GenQ - For the not so straight individual

After seven weeks on the chart, The Veronicas have made it to the top of the charts with their first single to be taken off their second album with the same title Hook Me Up.

The identical twins from Queensland ousted Timbaland from number one, who had held the title for the previous two weeks with The Way I Are. Making their first appearances in the top fifty this week was the John Butler Trio and Keith Urban with their live version of Funky Tonight from the 2007 ARIA Awards at number eleven, and Mika with Happy Ending at number thirty-two. Alicia Keys was the biggest mover of the week, climbing twenty-four places to thirteen with No One.

The Eagles have held onto the top of the album chart for the second week with Long Road Out of Eden, edging out the Veronicas who debuted at number two. Other high debuts for the week belonged to David Campbell who debuted at number eight with Swing Sessions 2, and Chris Brown debuting at eighteen with Exclusive. Kudos also went to Sneaky Sound System, with their ARIA Award winning self titled album going double platinum (140,000 copies sold) this week.
