Tying a good boy down..

New writer Cat writes about keeping communication lines open with her boys and some more about why they are so special.. The life of a Fag-Hag!

Since my first article, I’ve been lectured about not going to Mardi Gras (you know who you are darling!). I have made a vow to him and myself to be there with bells on next year. I know I’m going to have a ball, no pun intended… I will definitely have plenty to write about by doing this. I also get to kill two birds with one stone because I have family there.

I have a few events that I’m attending soon; including a birthday party at Pink on the 30th, which I will definitely be writing about. I’ve invited my boys to come with. Three out of four ain’t bad, is it? I can’t wait; have been hanging to see Grease The Drag Show for ages, and now I’ll get to do it and celebrate a groovy chick’s’ birthday, meet new people as a result of it as well. Bonus!

Now, back to the topic; my boys… I try to keep in contact with them on a regular basis, the best way I’ve noticed is via the internoodle. Two of my boys are flat-chat with exams and essays at the moment so this has been the best form of communication/touching base with them.

Gotta keep up to date with the goss; need to know what’s going on in their world, and I need to tell them what’s happening in mine. A phone call or sms doesn’t go astray either.

My youngest boy calls me mummy, which is so cute. It makes me feel more important/dear to him. I’m special.
One of my boys bought me the best birthday/Chrissy present ever and I’m going to treasure it forever. A personalised puppy from Build a Bear; it even looks like him! I’m going to get him a cat one that represents me/looks like me (so will have to get lots of different outfits and accessories for it)… This Fag-Hag dresses according to mood.

My musical boy always has something for me to listen to or watch. I love that he shares that stuff with me. I just heard the Alanis version of My Humps; he gets me to guess the artist and song. It’s always fun/interesting with him around. Music is my passion, so he keeps that fire in me going…

My four boys are both paired up; I had two and ended up with four! I’m very blessed.

I arranged to go out with two of them recently to Xchange and then maybe Peel but didn’t end up going. Can you believe that I got a splitting head-ache before we went out? We tried everything; water, pain killers and caffeine. I was spewing I tell you because this was planned for weeks. I love going out with my boys and getting ‘festive’.

I go shopping with one of my boys to pick something for him to wear and we catch-up when he’s got a hair/beauty appointment. I Love how we do coffee & I get him all to myself for a little bit…

I’m getting to know one of my boys better now; we’re going to catch-up just the two of us soon. I’m really looking forward to that because he’s so beautiful and intelligent.

In my case my boys are good friends with each other so we do all catch-up together on occasion. We try and make some personal catch-up time too; you’ve got to be persistent because if you live on the other side of the world it takes a bit of planning. All in all, the key is to keep the lines of communication open (which does take effort).

Yes, you know who you are and yes it’s because you’re worth it!
