Uganda bishop says 'resist gays'Reverend Nicodemus Okille has appealed to the Ugandan government not to legalize homosexuality. During his delivering of a Christmas sermon on Tuesday, Bishop of the Bukedi Diocese Reverend Nicodemus Okille has made a public appeal to the government of Uganda, urging for homosexuality not to be legalized.
Reverend Okille said that demonstrations of homosexuality were against biblical teachings of both marriage and African culture, and there is no place for gay activists in the kingdom of God. “These are acts to question the ordinances of God. There's nothing like 'intellectualising' sin; sin is sin. How do you imagine a woman sharing the same bed with a woman or a man with a fellow man? “It's terrible. As the church, we need to resist practices that are not in line with the Christian doctrines,” Reverend Okille said. Homosexuality is currently illegal in Uganda, and has a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
