The biggest storyline to break from season one is that Alex Mead, brother of Daniel Mead had a sec change to become a woman known as Alexis. This happened after she was presumed dead years earlier. This was a twist that no one saw coming, and set up what was to be a brilliant storyline to close season one. The villain of the series is over the top, stunning and ever so evil Wilhelmina Slater played by the brilliant former Miss America, Vanessa Williams.
