Writers strike to halt Desperate Housewives productionCurrent writer's strikes have placed a temporary halt on production of Desperate Housewives. Production has been halted of Desperate Housewives due to running out of scripts.
Filming of the tenth episode of the drama was scheduled to be completed on Friday, but an eleventh cannot be filmed due to a script not being completed because of the writer’s strike. Writers went on strike earlier this week demanding a larger profit from DVDs and to begin receiving profits from internet broadcasting sales. The fourth season of the show in the United States could prematurely stop as early as the second week of December if current strikes do not end in the near future. Housewives star Eva Longoria was spotted delivering pizzas to writers on Tuesday who are striking on set as part of a nationwide writer’s strike. Other television programmes that have reportedly stopped production (or will stop in the near future) due to the strike include Lost, 24, Two and a Half Men, and Rules of Engagement.
