Forbidden Broadway Greatest Hits Volume 1 - SHooSH! Productions

To anyone who has ever seen a Broadway Musical and craved to see another, this is the show to see. Forbidden Broadway started life on the back of a paper placemat when Gerard Alessandrini decided he was fed up with waiting tables and decided to create a one-night-only showcase. That was 1982. 17 years on and as long as musicals are produced, they are spoofed!

As the title suggests, this particular show is a collection of the best bits from the show's run. It covers the entire Broadway back catalogue, including Wicked, Rent, A Chorus Line, Les Miz and more! This makes for a side-splitting night out, however, the fun doesn't end there with some of Broadway's biggest stars also in the firing line. In the world of Forbidden Broadway, nothing is sacred.

In the talented hands of Brad Fischer and Nathan Firmin, the ensemble cast do it all, from Liza to Cats and from Ethel Merman to Chicago. Some highlights being the wicked parody "Defying Subtlety" and Mandy Pantinkin singing "Somewhat Overindulgent." The cast are incredibly talented triple threats. They sing, do super quick costume changes and possess fine comic timing.

The directors and creative team of this production have done a superb job of painstakingly recreating the iconic moments we all know and love with just a hint of something not quite right.

No surprise it's called Forbidden Broadway... Nothing's sacred!

The show runs until Sunday 8th February, as part of the Midsumma festival. For bookings, please call 94714432
