Is there anything better then hot Asian lesbians in love? Hell no! In this delightful Japanese romantic comedy we follow the story of Ichiko and Eri. Ichiko and Eri are Japanese uni students who are in love with each other. Being true to herself, Ichiko decides to “out” herself to her father, only to find that he and her deceased mother were gay friends that decided to get married as they both longed to have a family.
Ichiko meets her fathers current partner who he has been seeing for 3 years, and eventually meets her mothers ex lesbian lover while taking a walk on the beach with Eri Eri introduces Ichiko to her own father, a disapproving man, who makes it clear that he doesn’t believe that Eri has what it takes to be a lawyer. Eri has a point to prove, one she has strived for her entire life, to be seen as an equal by her father. This leads to her decision to have a “break” with Ichko, so that she can put all her energy into passing her exams.
Will their love be strong enough to last through the hard times?
This movie is adorable, “so cute” were the exact words constantly running through my head while watching this film. The movie is very evocative, and one of the best movies of this years festival.
