Maeve Higgins (Ireland) in Kitten Brides
She's back...and badder than ever! Like a rapper recently released from prison she's a verbal assassin, afraid of nothing except violence and the idea of touching a fish. In this show, the fierce Maeve Higgins tackles all the big issues. She loves the festival but isn't afraid to rip its heart out using Chutzpah alone. Come see for yourself!
Maeve Higgins is delighted to be a professional comedian. This is her third trip to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and she had to think carefully about her show. She will miss her house, her pets, her bike and her friends in Dublin. In her mind though that is a fair enough price to pay though because she loves the Melbourne Comedy Festival.
In keeping with her low key style “Kitten Brides” sees Maeve talking about a range of subjects in a non show-offy way. The sort of things likely to come up include the feelings you get being on your own in new places, the sound of forced rhubarb and taxidermy in Victorian Times.
“Maeve Higgins is here to demonstrate how to do Irish charm. She’s not daft, she doesn’t lay it on with a trowel, dimpling and twinkling away. Her’s in probably the most natural and uncontrived performance you could wish for” Chortle UK
“I’m completely and irretrievably in love with Maeve Higgins. Not only is she smart, sexy, sassy and funny as all get out, she made me laugh, made me think and – as if this wasn’t enough already for one night’s entertainment – she also made me a cake!” Inpress Magazine, Melbourne
