Bye Bye Boobies
Dir: Wednesday & Jez,
Australia,
2007,
19min
The title of this documentary is self explaining, its time to go.. Boobies!! This is a very personal insight into the final stages to Jez’s transition. The journey takes us from first celebrating at a Bye Bye Boobies party, to the final emotion before his operation, then finally to the relief following the operation. Most of the camera work was done by a novice, possibly compiled as a documentary as an after thought. While not long in time, this documentary is very emotional and interesting.
The Perfect Man
Dir: Maria Akesson,
weden/UK,
2007,
24min
This Documentary follows the life of Liam, told by his parents, himself and his girlfriend. This documentary explains the reasons behind Liam’s decision to transgender, the feeling of confusion, frustration and depression that has plagued his entire life. From age 11 Liam was diagnosed by his psychologist as being gender confused. Filmed very well, with some very raw questions and answers. This documentary is honest and heartbreaking.
Swimsuit, Whatever Suits You and Letters from Home are the other short films in this package.
