The Curiosity of Chance
MQFF Screening: Showing Saturday March 15th @ 16:30
A little gem of a film, Curiosity of Chance is sure to be a hit at this year’s film festival. Straight boys, jocks and drag queens all make this fun film worth watching. Bret Chuckerman from gay favourite Eating Out 2.
We all know the outcasts from high school, the ones that nobody liked as they had no friends. This was usually cause the person was gay or a nerd. This film is an honest portrayal of those people and emotions that they experience.
Chance is clearly a gay teenager, if not growing up was hard enough he finds himself in a new school. Right away he has trouble adjusting to his new surroundings. Brad the school bully makes Chance’s life hell from day one. His only new friends are the other school outcasts Twyla and Hank.
Chance passes his time at school by writing for the school newspaper. This leads to a interview and instant crush on the school jock Levi, played by Brett Chuckerman. Levi is a likeable and sweet jock; the connection between the characters is refreshing to see from a school student who has tolerance.
Set in the mid eighties the fashion and music clearly are a winner in this film.
This is a must see at this year’s film festival.
