Twenty-two year old openly gay flight attendant Todd Herzog has won the fifteenth series of reality television program Survivor.

Herzog received four out of the seven votes in the final vote, beating allies Courtney Yates and Amanda Kimmel to win Survivor – China.

“I knew that the second that I got out there that, no matter what it took, I would do everything that I possibly could to be sitting right here,” Herzog said.

“I can't believe it worked.”

Herzog is the youngest contestant to ever win the major prize Survivor.

In the final episode of Survivor – China, host Jeff Probst revealed that the series would return for a sixteenth season, to be held in Micronesia, and will see fans of the show compete against former contestants.
