George Michael is 45 today

Two-time Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter George Michael is 45 today, born 25^th June, 1963. He began his career as frontman of the duo Wham! and later went on to be a successful solo-artist. He has sold over 100 million records worldwide, encompassing 12 British #1 singles, 7 British #1 albums, 10 US #1 singles, and 2 US #1 albums. His 1987 debut solo album, Faith, has sold over 20 million copies to date. George Michael has been the most played artist on British radio over the past two decades.

Over the decades in the music business George Michael has not been a stranger to the headlines. Whether it was success with his songs (careless whisper, faith, freedom), controversy over his songs being banned (I want your sex for one!) or his arrest in LA in 1998 for “engaging in a lewd act” in a public toiler, George Michael remained in the forefront of the public mind.

Recently, and perhaps as a tongue in cheek gesture leading up to his birthday, George stunned fans at his first concert in 17 years by appearing commando on stage. Fans who were at the San Diego, California show on June 17, revealed that they could make out that the Faith singer was not wearing any underwear. This little surprise appeared to be yet another piece in an extremely entertaining show!
