Tonight is the night! After much build up and anticipation, New Zealand's best of the best in TV and Film come together to celebrate the Qantas New Zealand Film and Television Awards.
From best feature film to best short film, from best news to best drama and best actor to best actress the new programme also included a dedicated craft awards ceremony recognising the talents of some of our leading script writers, editors, cinematographers and camera people.
The Awards are celebrated during two dedicated award ceremonies, the Craft Awards being held on Friday September 12, and the Gala Awards on Saturday September 13.
Over 1000 guests will descend on Auckland's Civic Theatre to share the celebrations, and GenQ will also be there to give you real time updates of the winners, including personal photos and interviews, and any drama that may unfold (maybe it just might be a little less tame than the MTV VMAs!!).
For those of you interested in seeing for yourself in your living rooms, delayed highlights from the Qantas Film and Television Awards 2008 will be screened on TV3, Saturday 13 September at 9.30pm.
A Little about The Awards:
The Screen Directors Guild of New Zealand and the New Zealand Television Broadcasters' Council came together in 2008 to recognise the best of the best in the New Zealand film and television industry.
Previously run as two separate awards (the New Zealand Screen Awards and the New Zealand Television Awards) the new awards programme celebrated achievements across 58 categories.
