This heart-warming film looks at lost love over a period of thirty years. A couple of movie industry professionals show how unprofessional they can be when they both carry on a feud that has lasted many, many years.
Charlotte Rampling plays Alice d'Abanville a huge movie star in the 1970's. He partner in crime was super producer Louis Ruinard played by Jean Rochefort. Together they were the power couple of France. Living a crazy flamboyant lifestyle to the envy of those around them. Out of nowhere the couple split beginning a bitter feud that has lasted many years.
Louis is now in London to begin work on a new film and to accept an award for his artistic contribution to cinema. The organisers ask Alice to be the surprise guest presenter of the award. After much pressure from her new husband does she agree to do this for her old friend. No sooner after they meet again, their old feud is reignited bitter than ever.
We soon discover that they both still have romantic feelings for each other after all these years. This is a brilliant film with two such amazing actors. Rampling is superb in everything that she does, and the chemistry with Rochefort is just as good.
