This romantic comedy is a serious look at how relationships can breakdown over time. Marion and Jack decide to spend a couple of days with her parents at the end of a good vacation. What happens in these two days will change both their lives forever. Fans of Before Sunrise and Before Sunset will love what Delpy brings to this role.

Marion and Jack have a strange relationship, we see early on in the film that cracks have started to appear in their relationship. They continue to keep up the charade that what they have is good and stable, when it clearly isn’t. What we get here is a intimate look at the lives, both in and out of the bedroom, French style of the two main characters.

The French have a very modern view of sex in general. Marion is a very sexual person and we see that this drives her partner jack crazy. This film has so many funny moments but also at the same time, some very real ones. It is interesting to see the clash of American and French cultures brought to light on screen.

If you are in the mood for a good Sunday afternoon film, then I recommend 2 Days in Paris this Christmas.
