Tonight, during the first commercial break of So You Think You Can Dance the first ever housemate of BB08 was finally revealed.
It's the first time in the shows 8 year history that a housemate has been officially revealed to the public earlier than the day of the Launch show.
So we are introduced to Terri from NSW (age 52 in the promo, but 53 on the official website) and she appears to have some controversial views on immigration and religion. She even goes as far as comparing herself to Pauline Hanson.
"A lot of people that we've let come here have brought all their problems with them and now we're paying the price", says the new reality grandma. And she later reveals in a further promo, "I believe that religion is the root of all evil".
It will be interesting to see how the public reacts to these comments, and indeed whether or not she will be branded a racist rather than just simply opinionated.
I believe that religion is the root of all evil
Quite reminiscent of the views of Noeline Baker in the 1992 reality soap Sylvania Waters.Instead of being respected for voicing her opinion she was quickly labelled as a "ranting and raving" drunk bottle-blonde. And the suburb of Sylvania Waters has suffered devastating property values ever since.
So will we finally have some housemates with guts this year? By the look of things, say goodbye to the "cardboard" housemate we have seen so many times in previous years. Terri definately breaks the mould of the usual BB housemate.
Will Australia vote her out in the first opportunity, or could she win?
The next housemate will be revealed during Bondi Rescue this Tuesday night.
