Comeback Kid Britney Spears will make her first UK performance in four years on TV talent contest The X Factor. Despite no date having been set as of yet, Spears' spokesperson has confirmed that she will appear as a special guest on the current series.

Likewise, X Factor judge and producer Simon Cowell confirmed that the pop singer would appear on the show to promote her 6th album Circus, which will be released this December to coincide with her 27th birthday. "We're absolutely thrilled to have her. I've always said this about Britney, that she's a hugely talented person. Everyone wants to work with her because she's a star. She's the number one booking in the world at the moment for a show."

Also speaking about the singer's recent spate of controversies, Cowell added: "The fact that she goes a bit crazy occasionally makes her more interesting. And, if she wants to shave her head before she comes on the show, she's welcome to. I don't care."
