This fresh 6 part series from the BBC looks at the lives of four close women who happen to be friends since University. Their lives have all taken different paths and not everything has gone smoothly for these strong women.

The main character Dr Katie Roden is played by actress Sarah Parish from the hit show Cutting It. The series opens with the audience finding out that she had an affair with a patient then helped him to die. The real twist comes where Katie has since been getting close with his son.

Sharon Small plays the role of Trudi. Trudi is rasing two daughters on her own after her husband was killed in the 9/11 attacks. When love starts to blossom for Trudi something unexpected happens that could possibly ruin her hopes of a happy future.

Jessica is the slut of the group played by actress Shelly Cohn. Jessica is known to like both men and women and this causes complications in her current relationships. Her job as a party planner keeps her busy with the many people that she comes in contact with.

Finally Orla Brady plays Siobhan. She has been happily married for the past ten years. Her husband Harry has been trying to have a baby with her for some time with negative results. A co-worker of Siobhan’s has taken a sudden interest in her, could this be what she needs to improve her sex life?

Mistresses is an easy show to watch and just as easy to get hooked on. The cast are brilliant and the chemistry between the four women comes across well on screen. If you are in the mood for emotion and comedy all in one series then I highly recommend Mistresses Season One.
