One of the most successful television shows of the past few years comes from the BBC in the UK. Spooks is filled with gripping entertainment and each episode will have you begging for more. Australian fans now have the chance to own season five for the first time on DVD.

The British really know how to deliver some dramatic TV series with Spooks being no exception. Series five kicks of with a two part special focusing on the recovery of Adam who was shot in the last series. An evil group of political figures plans to take over the country creating total anarchy. As this is only a ten part season the action is gripping from the very beginning.

Newcomer Ros Myers is played the brilliant Hermonie Norris of Cold Feet fame. I found her character to be one of the more exciting ones in this series. Ros plans to take over the government but quickly becomes a favourite in the ranks of MI5. I loved Ros and Adam together; both their characters work very well this is evident through the dramatic scenes and dialogue.

Spooks reminds me a lot of 24 with its fast pace and dramatic storylines. The acting is first class all the way and never disappoints. With so much action happening onscreen it is hard to feel connected with each character along the way. Don’t let this deter you from loving every minute of what Spooks series 5 has to offer.

Some of the story lines may be a bit disturbing for some to watch so a word of warning. If you want to get addicted to a gripping series Spooks is first class all the way.
