Fourteen dancers come, only twelve dancers will remain…
I am so sick and tired of saying the same thing over and over each week. But I hafta say it again: the camera angles are just plain shit for the beginning routine. When there are fourteen or more dancers on a stage doing a giant synchronised performance, then does it not make sense to have lots of wide angle shots that sweep over the entire group? There are too many close ups, focusing on the same dancers every week. I for one, cannot see the entire routine as one whole dance which irritates the life out of me and this is happening every single week of this competition. Wake up Channel Ten! What should have been a terrific cavalcade of our top 14 dancers doing awesome hip hop, ended up being an editing mess of terrible camera angles. And I’m sick of it.

Moving on, the Bottom Three couples were Camilla and Sermsah, Laura and Anthony and Rhiannon and JD. I still can’t get used to Camilla’s long hair but in her first time dancing for her life, she looked rather cute in a mini black tutu. It’s simply a wonder watching Sermsah go at it on stage, with his smooth snake-like moves. Laura was hot tonight with her purple hair extension but was otherwise unenergetic and pretty standard to watch. I’m gonna call Anthony Mr Rubber Man from now on because of his amazing splits. Rhiannon must be getting sick of this by now, having done it at least twice already. She’s still smiling away which just shows her joyous personality although her dance for her life was rather angry. Yet it still demonstrated her punchiness. Finally JD rounded out the bottom six and I felt that he was a bit flat tonight.
As the judges went off to decide the fate of two dancers, Simple Plan was the entertainment. *double take* Why is Simple Plan playing on So You Think You Can Dance Australia? And I can definitely see people dancing (insert much needed sarcasm) to ‘When I’m Gone.’
Jason’s pet names to the girls like ‘darlin’ grate my nerves too (he doesn’t even pronounce it properly!) so when he announced that Laura was eliminated, I felt sympathetic to the fact that Jason would never be able to call her that again! The elimination of Sermsah was a complete shock when I thought that JD was actually the weaker dancer. Even more of a shock was Sermsah’s live f-word! Next week is gonna be very very interesting…
