It was a case of so close but so far for twenty-six year old Rhys Bobridge, who was announced as the runner up of the first season of So You Think You Can Dance Australia on Sunday. Accruing an incredible fan base along the way, Rhys was one of the most acknowledged contestants on the show. The second place getter took some time out from post Dance commitments to answer GenQ's 20 Questions, and there certainly are some interesting answers!

What was your main reason for auditioning for SYTYCD?
I was totally inspired by the American show, which got me back in to dance classes. And when the Australian version came around, I really wanted to be a part of it.

Blood, sweat and tears
How would you describe your dance style?
Free, sexy intricate
How long have you been dancing for?
I started learning when I was 7 years old
Other than dancing, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Make-up, singing, shopping, yoga, the pool.
Who inspires you?
The other dancers in the show – wade robson, one of the choreographers from the US version of SYTYCD
What’s the first thing you notice about boys/girls?
Their style of clothes
What’s your favourite music to dance to?
Girly house music

Scary
A night in on the couch or an all night bender?
On the couch for me baby!

Never

Madonna/Beyonce
What was your favourite memory of your time on SYTYCD?
Dancing with Jack at the Finale

My friend ezra for entertainment value, sunscreen for protection and a drum for a beat to dance to!

Nicole – lead singer of PussyCat Dolls
Rhys will return to the public arena in July as a part of the So You Think You Can Dance Australia national tour along with all other contestants that made the Top 10. Tickets go on sale Monday 12 May.
