This is an excellent series about the trials and tribulations of the Royal family. What really happens behind the scenes of the most famous family in the world? Take a peek inside the 3 DVD set of The Palace that screened on the Seven network earlier this year.

At the young age of 24 Richard becomes king after the sudden death of his father. Richard is modern and headstrong and challenges the foundations and ideals of what the Royal family is known for. The backstabbing and errors of the family day by day are scrutinised by the media every step of the way.

This Royal family has some major issues. Their mother is a drunk, the sister is a scheming bitch and the younger brother is a party animal. This prime time soap made up of eight episodes doesn’t disappoint with every secret and indiscretion open to the public’s judgemental attitude.

Jane Asher an accomplished British actress is pure brilliance in her role as Queen Charlotte. Rupert Evans is quiet good as King William; having not been familiar with his work he is surely a young actor to watch out for in the future. Each episode is filled with humour, drama and top notch acting like only the British can deliver.
