Shot on location on the Gold Coast, The Starter Wife is a look at Hollywood, love and life. What happens when a wife of a powerful film producer dumps his loyal and loving wife after many years of marriage? The result is a funny mini series starring Debra Messing, Judy Davis and Australia's own, Miranda Otto.

Molly Kagan played by Debra Messing is used ti living the high life. When her husband leaves her for a younger woman he social life is instantly over. Molly becomes a target and is blacklisted from all Hollywood events, her only source of comfort come from her close girlfriends.

Her only Hollywood connection is her close friend Lou Manahan played by acclaimed actor Joe Mantegna. When Lou suddenly commits suicide Molly suffers another blow. There are a few sub stories with her friends and the surrounding neighbours who live in her exclusive gated community.

The Starter Wife has all the ingredients of a prime time soap, it’s easy to watch and you won’t get bored. Judy Davis is amazing as Molly’s drunk and over the top best friend. Davis has some of the funniest moments in the series. As this was shot in Australia expect to see Adien Young and Miranda Otto adding the Australian flavour to the series.
