Costumebox makes dressing up easy!

The common perception amongst most Australians when it comes to finding a costume is that hiring an outfit is cheaper than buying. Costumebox.com.au proves this theory wrong, as customers can buy costumes for essentially the same price as hiring or even cheaper in some cases, with costumes on sale from as little as $39.95.

“In some costume stores the average cost of hiring an outfit is $80 with an additional bond of over $100, but with costumebox.com.au you can purchase an outfit at a reasonable price from the comfort of home, with the added convenience of delivery to your door,” says Roma Burke, co-founder of costumebox.com.au.

Costumebox.com.au launched in November 2007 by Australian entrepreneurs Nikki Yeaman and Roma Burke. Originally intended as website to predominantly sell children’s costumes, the first costume costumebox.com.au sold was a ‘naughty nurse’ outfit.

“Everyone loves dressing up. Initially we thought that the children’s costumes would be better sellers, but we soon found out that there is a huge market of adults looking to dress up too!” says Nikki.

Since then they have sold thousands of different costumes, masks and accessories to people all over Australia and Internationally. “The Wonder Woman suit is very surprisingly popular with male and female buyers alike, but the best selling costume for men continues to be Buzz Light Year. For women the most popular costume is Bat Girl,” says Roma.

“With over 1,400 costumes to choose from the best part of buying with costumebox.com.au is the huge range we have on offer. You also don’t have to worry about who has worn the costume before you, since you get to keep it!” says Nikki.

The website also sells plus size costumes including a sassy Cleopatra outfit and a Samurai Warrior get up. Items are shipped via express post for $14.95 postage and handling, meaning that they always arrive within a few days of ordering.

Costumebox.com.au sells a range of adults and children’s costumes, hats, masks, wigs and accessories. For further information visit www.costumebox.com.au

About Costumebox.com.au

Costumebox.com.au was launched by Nikki Yeaman and Roma Burke in November 2007. The idea came to them years before when Nikki and Roma saw a gap in the costumes market in Australia, only a limited range of costumes was available to the public. Costumebox.com.au currently sells over 1,400 costumes and accessories, with approximately 200 new adult styles to be added to the collection over the next few months.

The items sold on costumebox.com.au are sourced from all over the world, particularly from the United States. In the past year, Nikki and Roma have purchased costumes from the New York Toy Fair and Las Vegas Halloween show and are constantly looking for new and exciting outfits for their customers.

Nikki and Roma co-founded the successful label company thatsmine.com.au in 2001. This experience in retailing and order fulfillment systems provided them with a solid background to launch costumebox.com.au. Nikki and Roma continue to manage both businesses and have outgrown their initial home office, upgrading several times, most recently to a new large warehouse and office complex in Brookvale, NSW.

I loved dressing up as Pippy Longstocking when I was in primary school, my mum helped me with the long pigtails (pipe cleaners and everything! red spray!) and it was lots of fun!

I love dressing up for super hero parties.. it's always good to see the persona people put on when they are hiding behind blue tights!

My Favourite costume was when I dressed up as a Golfer, everyone commented on it, it was easy & the best part was the kids plastic golf set I carried around ...which came in good use...
